Our guests aren't the only talented individuals who attend Katsucon - over the years our attendees have demonstrated their 'l33t sk1llz' in costuming, animation, video editing and modeling, and this year is no exception. Katsucon 14 is pleased to announce the following contests and a call for entries:

• Katsucon Anime Music Video Awards - Take your favorite anime and your favorite tunes, create a music video to amaze and entertain Katsucon 14 attendees, and maybe take home a Golden Katsu!
• Katsucon Masquerade a.k.a. Cosplay! - Break out the sewing machines, glue guns, fabric, notions, scripts and choreography, the main stage and an eager audience awaits you!
• Katsucon Hall Costume Contest - So you have a costume, but for whatever reason, you aren't appearing in the Saturday Night Masquerade. If you want to have your costume judged, feel free to enter the Hall Costume Contest.
• Epic Webcomic Win (off site link) - Offered exclusively at Katsucon (by a great line-up of our wonderful guests) will be Epic Webcomic Win! Enter to win lots of fantastic prizes by filling out an entry form available at any Webcomic guest table. Open to all Katsucon attendees.
• Game Katsu - Information about the tournaments being held in Katsucon's Video Game room.
• *NEW* Improvise This! The Random Cosplay Skit Challenge - The next generation of cosplay skit challenges has arrived! In Improvise This!, teams of two to four cosplayers compete to see who can put together the best four-minute skit in less than an hour based on rules they won’t know until the day of the competition. Contestants will be given one theme (say, adventure or comedy), one requirement (maybe they’ll have to incorporate a stuffed penguin plush into their skits), and one forbidden action (perhaps points off for not entering and exiting the stage backwards). Then they’ll have less than 60 minutes to write and rehearse the best cosplay skit of their lives and wow our panel of four judges with their awesome skills of improvisation and entertainment.
